We had a fantasic videoconference with Hink Kong this morning. The kindergarten (nursery) children told us about Hong Kong and demonstrated Tia Chi. They showed us how to do the 'watermelon' and the 'crane' we joined in the movments with them. It was amazing to share experiences with children thousands of miles away.
We then told them about London and gave a presentation about the London Eye, Big ben, Tower bridge and English food. The videoconference was a great success. Our Chinese host Chun Bong was fantastic and said that this was the first international videoconference of young children in Hong Kong.
The homework was to write about the videoconference.
Then it was back to normal and some fantastic column addition sums by everyone. Some children moved onto adding three or four numbers. As long as we kept our numbers in the correct columns we were able to answer some very big sums.
It was also a day to say goodbye to Ian. His family are moving to Manchester and we will all miss him.
